Jacob has recently returned to New England after a year and a half in Seattle, Washington as the Acrobatic Department Manager at the School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts. He has been a circus artist, specializing in hand to hand acrobatics, and circus teacher for over ten years. His coaching specialties are hand to hand, group acrobatics, and handstands. His training comes from the Flying Gravity Circus (original troupe), Circus Smirkus, and École national de cirque (the National Circus School) in Montréal. Jacob took part in the creation and North American tour of the Cirque du Soleil show “Kooza”.

Faith received the majority of her hand to hand training in Beijing, China, and since then has traveled the world performing, and more recently coaching. Her teaching specialties are hand to hand, handstands, and tumbling. She has a gymnastics and diving background, and her coaching style pulls from the pool of techniques she has acquired from years of multi-disciplinary training, plus ten years of coaching experience. Her strength is strict attention to technical detail.

Dynamic Group Acrobatics - All levels welcome. Emphasis on foundational technique and skills. Human pyramids, banquine, dynamic partner/group acrobatics, and adagio style tricks may be included in the curriculum. Tricks covered will depend on the ability of students in the class and size distribution. Student spots available may depend on flyer - base distribution. 

Length: 120 minutes group instruction plus 60 minutes open

Number of students: 14 (space limited)

Pre-req: Comfort falling safely. Comfort taking responsibility for the safety of others. Patience.

Suggested: Flyers should have a strong handstand, preferably ease pressing into a handstand, and general acrobatic ability and tumbling are strong assets. Bases should be able to perform 30 squats all the way down, 20 pushups with elbows by the sides, and have solid core strength. Middles should have both flyer and base suggested pre-reqs. Session 1: Runs for 12 weeks, October 5th, 2016 - December 21, 2016 (There will be class the Wednesday before Thanksgiving).

Day and Time: Wednesdays from 7:00PM - 10:00PM 

Cost: $600 for the session or $65/drop in class

Suggested: Be able to hold you body weight on your hands, push-ups

Cost: $50/drop in class; $480/12 week session.

 

Intermediate Handstands - Emphasis on building strength, endurance, and consistency. Working on expanding shape variety. Introduction to hands together and one arm handstands.  Please email info@easternacrobaticsandcircus.com for any questions regarding the curriculum or pre-requisites. 

Pre-req: Hold handstand for 30 seconds, and crocodile for 10. Comfort kicking to handstand, as well as jumping up through tuck and straddle.

Length: 60 minutes/ week

Age: 8 and up

Number of students: 6

Suggested: Straddle press from standing, and hold handstand for 1 min.

Open Handstands - All levels welcome. Good place to start if you don’t know your level. Emphasis on form, strength, and entering/exiting handstand through different shapes.
